Guide for August 2026 · All Seasons Painting
Look at the surface as well as the forecast
A sunny afternoon does not automatically mean siding is dry enough to paint. Rain, overnight dew, shade and the type of material all affect how quickly a surface dries. Wood and masonry can retain moisture differently from metal or vinyl, so the preparation and drying plan should match the surface.
Follow the coating instructions
The suitable conditions vary by product. Check the manufacturer’s temperature and humidity guidance and consider conditions during drying, not just at the moment paint is applied. Sherwin-Williams notes that moisture and temperature can affect film formation and adhesion.
Keep the schedule flexible
Discuss which areas receive direct sun, which stay shaded and what happens if rain arrives. A weather delay can be part of responsible planning. Ask how surface preparation, repairs and protection for plants and walkways fit into the schedule before work starts.
